April 2007 - Update on the work of
the Advisory Group
This website outlines the basic
process that has led up to the development of the proposed creation
of a new inclusive Canadian organization to support the breeding
and development of sport horse breeds in Canada.
In a joint committee
meeting between the Canadian Sport Horse Association and the
Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association we decided to 'begin
with the end in mind'. The Vision - 'that Canada becomes
a power in breeding performance horses by strengthening the value
of the Canadian performance horse industry.'
This is the statement
that most felt captured the essence of what we were trying to
accomplish. It means building an association which meets the
needs of sport, is internationally respected, communicates with
its members, educates the public, focuses on development and
improvement and provides the resources for its members to add
value to their horses through marketing and education.

contained on this website will provide breeders, owners and riders
of Canadian bred performance horses the opportunity to watch
this new vision of sporthorse breeding in Canada evolve into
the vibrant community we all strive for.

that this is a work in progress.
With our members' support we look forward to taking the best
from both Associations and, with the inclusion of Sport Pony
breeders, making Sport Horse Canada something even more dynamic.
